By “official opening,” it doesn’t mean that Bartoli is the first to perform in the whole festival. Last night I went to a concert by Masaaki Suzuki and his formidable Bach Collegium Japan with a complete performance of St. Matthew Passion. That is a very refined performance.

The diva has just got a Grammy with her album Sacrificium. Music of the disc will be featured in her February 24 recital. Two days after, not today.
For me the official opening means that a cocktail is expected and I’m now looking forward to having a sip of fine wine before all the heavenly music.
